welcome

jm counselling

Even the strongest amongst us can feel lost, unsure or unhappy at times. I believe everybody is unique and with the right counsellor is able to move towards a more fulfilling life.

about me

My name is Jessica Macey and I am a qualified humanistic integrative counsellor currently working with adults in the East Grinstead, West Sussex area.

I offer a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space to explore whatever difficulties you are experiencing at the moment. As a humanistic counsellor I believe you are the expert on yourself and are able to make your own decisions. Working integratively means I draw from different theories to support you and suit your individual needs.

I am able to work with many different issues including

  • bereavement

  • relationship issues

  • depression

  • post natal depression

  • anxiety

  • low self esteem

  • self harm

  • childhood issues

  • anger

  • emotional support for carers

As well as having experience with emotional support for carers, I also have a special interest in working with the deaf, hard of hearing and parents of deaf children. As a parent you may be experiencing extreme stress, have feelings of 'not being good enough' or carry huge amounts of guilt. My aim is to support you and promote understanding in order to help understand and cope with any issues you may be experiencing.

I also worked as a bereavement counsellor at St Catherine's Hospice.

As a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I work within and adhere to their ethical guidelines.

what is counselling?

If you are going through emotionally difficult times, counselling provides a confidential, non-judgemental and safe space in which you can be yourself and talk freely about the challenges you are experiencing in your life, without having to worry who you offend or upset in the process.

Having the opportunity to explore your thoughts and feelings can be beneficial to identify and understand your difficulties.

Each person has their own unique experience of counselling and your outcome will, to an extent, depend on you and what you want to achieve.

Counselling may help you to gain a greater understanding of yourself, of others and an understanding of what makes you happy. It can help you make positive choices and provide you with the tools to deal with stress and anxiety. It may also help you to gain clarity and direction when looking to the future.
